The Frank Lucas Foundation

Initiative 1: "School and Community"

  • The aim of this initiative is for the Frank Lucas Foundation to provide youth with the tools required to create uplifting and empowering media images (music, movies, television, etc). The approach is 3-pronged.
  • Provide hardware (computers, video cameras, lighting equipment, etc.), and software from donated equipment and arranged gear rentals to schools invested in teaching students the crafts of media creation. We will also work in conjunction with organizations that are already established in this endeavor.
  • Provide media creation tutorials led by entertainment industry professionals (record producers, film directors, music video directors, screenwriters, songwriters, TV producers, etc.) to demonstrate skills and techniques required to create their project in their specified genre.
  • Follow-up with the arrangement of internships with various media creation companies for the most dedicated and committed students and introduce them to mentors and a support system through sororities and fraternities, college alumni associations and community organizations who already mentor students through their social organization.
Initiative 2: "Peace Parties"
  • Six major cities are signed on along with our Ambassadors of Peace to hold "block parties" throughout the school year, to continuously promote the Frank Lucas Foundation's message of peace and unity. We have schedules meetings with the Mayors of those prominent cities and are planning the events to include musical entertainment, giveaways and an award ceremony.
  • The objective is to visually display a unified community committed to the annihilation of violent behavior and peer pressure in our urban areas.
  • Major recording artists, comedians, sports figures, governmental officials and others are signed up to perform at the events. Local, Regional and statewide officials are slated along with our Ambassadors of the Frank Lucas Foundation and speak at each event.
Initiative 3: "Get Grades Not Guns"
  • Our initiatives encompass the mission statement and purpose of the Frank Lucas Foundation
  • Use the same format and marketing practices in "Get Grades Not Guns" that is used in making violence popular through the glamorization of the "thug" and "gangster" mentality.
  • Utilizing a marketing campaign through the streets, radio, TV, and all avenues of media and advertising; to include a clothing line and merchandising, (which is donated through private donors and placed in "FLF" backpacks) that we leave at the school or venue for the students after the rally. This brings awareness and admiration to the foundation and creates another positive role model for our society.
Initiative 4: "School & Community
  • The Frank Lucas Foundation visits schools, communities, correctional facilities and organizations across the country with the message of non-violence and anti-drugs through interacting with the students and communities alike.
  • We have successfully structured our program using musical performances from celebrities and lectures from Mr. Frank Lucas. The "FLF" pack is the tool that gives the student the ability to speak about what he/she learned at the rally long after the event.
  • Utilizing FLF pack giveaways at schools will allow the children and their parents to dialogue about how Frank Lucas overcame a life of drugs and crime, inspiring them to do the same.
  • Obtain and rally additional corporate sponsors for additional merchandise for the back-to-school FLF packs which include back-to-school supplies, iPods located with positive messages, gift certificates, etc.
